On Friday, October 10, Visiting Assistant Professor of Health Studies Ann Rathbun, Ph.D., and student Nathaniel Kerr attended an advocacy training sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. The meeting was held in Dallas at the Texas Health Presbyterian campus.
About their experience at this event, Dr. Rathbun explains “We heard legislative updates from Texas and the U.S., connected with other advocates from the North Texas area, and learned how to talk to law makers when making legislative visits as constituents. Overall it was a very exciting day with lots of learning and networking.”
Dr. Rathbun currently teaches undergraduate level courses in health education and health program planning and design.
